psychic pokemon, pt 3 (gen 4,5)

moving on to the last to gens today!

gen four comes out of the gate strong with 5 legendary psychic pokemon (the lake guardian trio, cresselia, and victini). all four have some great mythology behind them.

bronzor is an interesting pokemon because of it's connection to the ancient world. from the diamond entry:

Implements shaped like it were discovered in ancient tombs. It is unknown if they are related

 this is also pretty interesting:

X-ray photos were taken to check its body structure. Nothing appeared, however.

 and that makes me wonder what bronzor is. it's evolved form, bronzong, is equally mysterious.

other psychic pokemon from this gen are chingling, mime jr., and gallade.

gen 5 starts off with a deceptive little pokemon called munna. its super cute, but don't let that fool you. munna is the unova's own version of drowzee. its even called a dream eater pokemon. that being said, munna is a bit more pleasant that drowzee, asthetically at least. from the white pokedex:

It eats the dreams of people and Pokémon. When it eats a pleasant dream, it expels pink-colored mist.

that's just cute. it's evolved form, musharna, is just as good.

next are elgyem and beheeyem, two alien pokemon. elgyem's pokedex entries:

black: It uses its strong psychic power to squeeze its opponent's brain, causing unendurable headaches.

white: This Pokémon had never been seen until it appeared from far in the desert 50 years ago.

the shout out in to the roswell incident is nice. beheeyem's pokedex entries:

 black: It can manipulate an opponent's memory. Apparently, it communicates by flashing its three different-colored fingers.

white: It uses psychic power to control an opponent's brain and tamper with its memories. 

the black entry is another shout out, this time to the original war of the worlds film. extraterrestrial pokemon are always interesting.

the last pokemon is sigilyph, another ancient pokemon. from it's black entry:

They never vary the route they fly, because their memories of guarding an ancient city remain steadfast.

the ancient city may or may not be the desert resort, since that is the only place they are found. then again , the desert resort might be the remains of a more current city.
other gen 5 psychic pokemon include the gothita evolution line, the solosis evolution line, and darmantian and meoletta depending on the form.
